Meet Our Team
Kirsty McDonald
Hi, I’m Kirsty. I became a PGA Member in 1996 and spent the early part of my career competing on the Ladies European Tour. After my playing career, I discovered my true passion lay in developing others within the game. This led me to become a PGA Tutor and Assessor on the PGA Foundation Degree Programme, in association with the University of Birmingham, where I’ve greatly enjoyed supporting aspiring PGA Professionals and sharing my love of coaching.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of coaching golfers of all ages and abilities — from complete beginners to advanced players — helping them build confidence, reach their goals, and, most importantly, enjoy their golf even more.
I look forward to meeting you and working with you to help you develop your golf game.
FOUNDER - PGA COACH
Phoenix Shelton
Hi, I’m Phoenix. Over the past year I’ve developed a strong passion for golf, and when I’m not out on the course, I’m usually busy managing all things social media. I’m also delighted to be starting my coaching journey — I recently qualified as a Golf Activator with England Golf and will be beginning the Community Golf Instructor training programme this Spring.
My aim is to introduce more people to the game in a fun, supportive, and engaging way, helping them enjoy golf as much as I do. I’m really looking forward to meeting you all and working together.

Tony Hiorns
Hi, I'm Tony, originally from Yorkshire, I settled in this area after finishing my army service, trading military routines for civilian life - and eventually rediscovering golf thanks to some very persistent friends. I'm an enthusiastic high-handicapper whose swing has strong opinions about when it wants to cooperate, but I'm always up for a round and a good chat,
My real passion, though, is supporting people. For the past 12 years, I've volunteered as a Scout Leader with the 124th Nottingham Scout Group. Working with young people has been incredibly rewarding and has reinforced my commitment to teamwork and community. That experience has deepened my commitment to creating safe, positive spaces where others feel heard, valued, and able to thrive.
Whether on the course or off it, I'm always here to help, check in, and make sure everyone feels part of the team.
